120V LED Strip Lights (Line Voltage)

Line-voltage LED strip that connects directly to 120V AC — no drivers, none of the voltage drop that limits 12V/24V runs, single runs up to 98 ft (30 m), with flicker-free and dot-free COB options.

Supply range

Our line voltage program connects directly to 120V AC — no drivers to size, place, or ventilate — and feeds single runs to 98 ft (30 m) from one end. Flicker-free series are available for camera-safe and occupied spaces, alongside dot-free driverless COB versions with TRIAC dimming from standard wall dimmers, all in IP65 silicone extrusion as standard. The trade-off, stated plainly: color rendering is Ra≥75–80 and cut intervals are larger than low-voltage strip. UL Listed options are available, with documentation for your submittal package.

Applications

Where line-voltage strip earns its keep

Commercial building at dusk outlined by one even 120V LED strip roofline

Facades & Perimeters

Uninterrupted outline and soffit runs up to 98 ft (30 m) from a single feed — no low-voltage drivers mid-run.

Long hotel corridor cove lit end to end by a single 120V LED strip run

Commercial Coves

Long cove and ceiling runs in lobbies and corridors where driver count and voltage drop matter.

FAQ

120V line-voltage questions

Does 120V LED strip need a driver?

No — it connects directly to 120V AC through a rectifier plug. That eliminates the LED driver, the transformer placement problem, and the low-voltage wiring plan. Power draw is 8–14 W per meter depending on the series.

How long can a single run be?

98 ft (30 m) from a single feed on every 120V series — there is no low-voltage drop to manage. The 230V international versions extend that to 164 ft (50 m). One feed typically covers an entire building elevation.

Read the spec sheet guide on run limits

When should I choose 120V over 24V strip?

Choose 120V when the run is long and driver placement is the problem — perimeters, parking structures, temporary installs. The trade-off is real: CRI is Ra 75–80 and cut intervals are 500 mm versus 25–50 mm on low-voltage strip. For CRI-critical interior work, specify low-voltage COB instead.

Read the 120V vs 24V guide

Is 120V LED strip a Class 2 low-voltage product?

No. It runs on line voltage, so the Class 2 rules that cover 24V strip do not apply; it is wired with line-voltage methods like any other 120V load, and the method for a given install is confirmed with the AHJ.

Is 120V LED strip dimmable?

Yes — 120V series support TRIAC phase-cut dimming from standard wall dimmers, with no low-voltage conversion or extra control wiring. For camera-safe occupied spaces, pair dimming with the flicker-free series.

Read the 120V vs 24V guide

Is it safe to install?

Yes, when installed to code — the strip is IP65 rated, is available as a UL Listed option, and connects through a listed rectifier plug. Follow NEC and local code for line-voltage wiring; hardwired installations should be completed by a licensed electrician.

Can 120V LED strip be used outdoors?

Every series is IP65 silicone extrusion, which is tested against water jets, not immersion. The IP code is a lab test; the wet location marking comes from the product's listing and is confirmed per model at quote, and the plug and connections need the same protection as the strip.

Read the wet location LED strip guide

Can 120V LED strip be cut?

Yes — at the marked cut points, every 19.7 in (500 mm) on the SMD series, 9.8 in (250 mm) on UT-H120-288-COB and 4.9 in (125 mm) on UT-H120-296-COB. Intervals are larger than low-voltage strip because each segment must hold a full AC circuit. Cap the cut end with the listed end cap.
