Tunable White LED Strip Lights

CCT-adjustable white from 2700K to 6500K, plus dim-to-warm strip that sinks to 1800K candlelight — in SMD and dot-free COB, with 2-wire and 3-wire control options.

Supply range

Our tunable white program covers the full 2700–6500K range on dual WW+CW channels, both rendering at Ra≥90. Two control architectures are offered: 2-wire, which carries dimming and CCT over the power line and drops into retrofits without new control wiring, and 3-wire, with a dedicated CCT channel for 0-10V, DALI, and DMX systems. Strips run on 5V, 12V, or 24V in SMD and dot-free COB constructions — including dim-to-warm series that shift warmer as they dim, the way incandescent does. UL Listed options are available, with documentation for your submittal package.

FAQ

Tunable white questions

What is the difference between tunable white and dim-to-warm?

Tunable white lets you set any color temperature between 2700K and 6500K independently of brightness. Dim-to-warm ties the two together: the strip automatically shifts warmer as it dims, ending near 1800K — the way an incandescent lamp behaves on a dimmer. Specify tunable white for scene control, dim-to-warm for incandescent-style ambiance.

Read the dim-to-warm LED strip guide

2-wire vs 3-wire tunable strip — which do I need?

2-wire carries dimming and CCT commands over the power line itself — ideal for retrofits where pulling new control wire is impractical. 3-wire adds a separate CCT channel for 0-10V, DALI, and DMX control systems, the standard for new commercial construction. Both architectures cover 2700-6500K.

0-10V vs TRIAC vs DALI control

Do I need a special controller?

Yes — tunable strip needs a CCT-capable controller matched to its architecture: a 2-wire push-dim or power-line controller, or a 3-wire 0-10V/DALI/DMX interface. The ON/OFF tunable series is the exception — it steps CCT from a standard wall switch. We pair the controller at quote time from our Drivers, Controllers & Connectors line.

Test the driver and dimmer pair first

Does color temperature change affect brightness?

At the extremes, slightly — full output requires both white channels driven together. Power is listed as total WW+CW: a 16W (8+8) strip delivers half its wattage at pure 2700K or pure 6500K and full output at mid mix. Good CCT controllers compensate to keep perceived brightness constant.

Read the LED strip color temperature guide

Can tunable white match incandescent dimming?

That behavior is exactly what the dim-to-warm series is for — it shifts from 3000K down to 1800K candlelight as it dims, no programming required. Standard tunable white can approximate the curve with a programmed controller, but dim-to-warm does it natively on a 2-wire dimmer.
