Single Color SMD LED Strip Lights
White and single-color SMD strip from 2835 workhorses to CRI 98 full-spectrum — 30 to 480 LEDs per meter, high-efficacy options up to 190 lm/W.
Our single-color SMD LED strip light program spans six packages — 2835, 5050, 2022, 3838, 3014, and 2216 — at 30 to 480 LEDs per meter. Color quality comes in three tiers: Ra≥90 standard, Ra≥95, and Ra≥98 full-spectrum, with high-efficacy tape light reaching 190 Lumens per watt: how much light the strip gives for the power it draws. Higher means less heat and less driver load per foot. where energy codes drive the spec. Choose 12V or 24V, or 48V and constant-current designs for long single-feed runs, plus S-shape, side-view, and ultra-narrow form factors. UL Listed options are available, with documentation for your submittal package.

When to spec something else
A dot-free line with no diffuser
SMD packages sit at a fixed pitch, and the pitch sets how visible the dots are.
COB LED strip, a continuous dot-free lineOne feed for a long run
Standard 12V/24V strip runs 16 ft (5 m) per feed before voltage drop becomes visible.
Long-Run series: 48V to 49 ft (15 m), 24V constant current to 65 ft (20 m)A standard power supply on CC strip

SMD LED strip questions
What does "5050" or "2835" mean on an LED strip?
The four digits are the chip’s physical dimensions in millimeters — a 2835 chip measures 2.8 × 3.5 mm, a 5050 chip 5.0 × 5.0 mm. Package size affects output per chip, heat, and density options. It is a size code, not a quality grade.
2835 vs 5050 — which should I choose?
2835 for most single-color work — it runs denser (up to 480 LEDs/m), cooler, and more efficient, up to 190 lm/W in our high-efficacy series. 5050 puts more output on each chip, useful at low densities like 30–60 LEDs/m. Both carry the same CRI tiers and warranty.
Is the 190 lm/W figure for the strip or for the LED?
It is the figure for the whole strip. UT-S2835-128-HE lists 190 lm/W at 2.9 W/ft, which is about 550 lm/ft. When a sheet lists efficacy, multiply by watts per foot to compare lumens per foot.
How many amps does LED strip draw?
Divide watts per meter by voltage, then multiply by run length. Example: UT-S2835-120 at 14.4 W/m on 24V draws 0.6 A per meter — a 5 m run pulls 3 A. Keep the connected load at or below 80% of the driver's rating.
Are SMD LED strips dimmable?
Yes — every single-color series dims smoothly to below 1% with a compatible driver. Pair with TRIAC, 0-10V, or DALI dimmable drivers depending on the control system; we match the driver at quote time. All pairings are verified flicker-free before shipment.
How many strips can one power supply run?
Total the wattage of every connected run and keep it at or below 80% of the supply’s rating. A 150 W driver safely runs about 8 m of 14.4 W/m strip. We size drivers per circuit from our Drivers, Controllers & Connectors line at quote time.
How long can a single run be?
49 ft (15 m) on the 48V series and 65 ft (20 m) on the 24V constant-current series from a single feed — see the Long-Run series. Standard 12V/24V runs are 16 ft (5 m) per feed before voltage drop becomes visible.
What is SMD LED strip?
SMD LED strip is tape with surface-mounted LED packages soldered at a fixed pitch along a flexible PCB, as opposed to COB strip where bare chips sit under one continuous phosphor layer. The package name, 2835 or 5050 for example, is the chip's size in millimeters, and the pitch and package together set the output, the dot visibility and the cut interval.
