COB LED Strip Lights (Dot-Free)
Dot-free COB LED strip from 280 to 1,600 LEDs per meter — 12V, 24V, and 48V long-run options, with UL Listed options available.
Our COB (also called FCOB) flexible strip and tape light program covers the full architectural range of high-density, dotless LED strip: 280 to 1,600 LEDs per meter, Color Rendering Index, 0–100: how truthfully the light shows colors next to a reference source. Ra≥90 is the usual bar for interiors. 90–98, and color temperatures from 2700 K to 6500 K, on PCB widths from 2.7 to 30 mm.
Ingress ratings run IP20 through IP68 for dry, damp, and wet locations. Choose 12 V or 24 V constant-voltage strip, or the 48 V engineering series for single-feed runs up to 65 ft (20 m).
UL Listed options are available, with documentation ready for your submittal package.

SCOB — Dot-Free Alternatives
SCOB strips use ultra-compact SMD packages to achieve the same dot-free result as classic COB — with higher efficacy per watt in some bins. The packaged LEDs are sorted before assembly: one bin, SDCM<3. At 24V a SCOB run feeds 49 ft (15 m) from one end, or 98 ft (30 m) fed from both ends.

COB LED strip questions
Should I choose 12V or 24V COB LED strip?
Choose 24V for most architectural work: it halves the current for the same wattage, so wire and connectors carry less and long runs need fewer feed points. 12V suits short runs under 16 ft (5 m) and systems that already run on 12V. For runs past 32 ft (10 m), our 48V series feeds up to 65 ft (20 m) from a single end.
How do I cut COB LED strip — and where?
Cut only at the marked cut points, straight across the printed cut line with sharp shears. Standard 24V COB cuts every 25–50 mm; our mini-cut series steps down to 12.5 mm and the free-cut series cuts at any point along the run. Re-seal IP65+ strip with an end cap after cutting.
How do I read the COB spec table above?
Read the voltage, the cut increment and the max run together. The max run column means different things on different rows: per feed on the standard rows, no voltage drop on UT-C384-8, a single feed on the 48V rows, constant current on the CC rows, and single feed or both ends at 24V on the SCOB rows. Watts per foot sizes the driver; keep the load at or below 80% of the driver rating.
What is the difference between COB and SMD LED strip?
COB strip mounts bare chips under a continuous phosphor layer for a dot-free line of light; SMD strip uses discrete packaged LEDs that can show hotspots. A typical COB strip carries 280–800 chips per meter; standard SMD strip carries 60–120 packages per meter, and high-density SMD reaches 480. For channels without diffusers and edge-lit details, COB is the safer spec.
How long do COB LED strips last?
Rated life is L70 ≥ 50,000 hours — the point where output falls to 70% of initial. That is more than 17 years at 8 hours per day. Proper heat sinking in an aluminum channel is the single biggest factor in reaching rated life.
Do COB LED strips get hot?
They run warm, not hot. Mounting in an aluminum channel lowers the operating temperature and protects lumen maintenance, and series above 800 LEDs/m should always be channel-mounted. Check the model's datasheet for its thermal limits.
How many meters can I run on a single feed?
It depends on the series, and the spec table lists the limit for every model. The standard 12V/24V rows, such as UT-C320-8 and UT-C480-8, take 16 ft (5 m) per feed; UT-C384-8 lists 32 ft (10 m) with no voltage drop; the high-density rows take 10 ft (3 m) per feed; and the 48V and constant-current series feed up to 65 ft (20 m) from a single end. The SCOB rows run 49 ft (15 m) from one end at 24V, or 98 ft (30 m) fed from both ends. Longer runs use more feed points or feed from both ends.
Are COB LED strips dimmable?
Yes — every white COB series dims smoothly to below 1% with a compatible driver. Pair with a TRIAC, 0-10V, or DALI dimmable driver depending on the control system; we match the driver at quote time. All pairings are verified flicker-free before shipment.
Which COB strip suits a jewelry or retail display case?
A high-CRI COB strip, CRI 95 or above with a strong R9, in a narrow channel with an opal diffuser so the line is dotless and the stones show their color. 3000K to 4000K suits gold and warm metals, 4000K to 5000K diamonds and silver, and a tunable white strip lets one case do both.
