Cuttable LED Strip Lights
Cuttable LED strip that stops exactly where the panel, shelf or letter ends: 33 models that cut at any point or at every LED, most every 3 to 12.5 mm, in SMD, dot-free COB and SCOB, addressable pixel and neon flex.
Every LED strip can be cut, but only at its marked points, usually every 1 to 4 in (25 to 100 mm). The strip on this page cuts at any point or at every LED, most of it every 3 to 12.5 mm, so the light ends within a fraction of an inch of the panel edge. Sort by cut length below; each model also appears with its full spec on its own product page: SMD, COB, SCOB, addressable and neon flex.
White models render at Color Rendering Index, 0–100: how truthfully the light shows colors next to a reference source. Ra≥90 is the usual bar for interiors. 90 or higher. Short cuts come at a price in some designs: the 3 mm-cut COB runs 58–65 lm/W, while the 5 mm-cut 2835 board keeps 110–122 lm/W, so check efficacy alongside the cut.
Why contractors spec our cuttable strip
Cut at any point
Cut-anywhere COB and gold-plated SCOB boards have no cut marks to find on site.
Every 3 to 12.5 mm
White boards cut every 0.12 to 0.49 in (3 to 12.5 mm), against 1 to 4 in on standard strip.
Up to 122 lm/W cuttable
The 8 mm 2835 200 LEDs/m board cuts every 5 mm and runs 110–122 lm/W.
White, pixel or neon
Cuttable SPI pixel strip and cuttable neon flex for signs that must close exactly.
12V and 24V
Pick the voltage by run length; most boards feed 16 ft (5 m) per feed.
No dark ends
The cut lands next to the last LED, so a run does not end with an unlit tail at the panel edge.
Five cut ranges, 33 cuttable models, one spec conversation
Cut at Any Point or Every 3–5 mm
The finest cuts we offer. Two boards cut at any point along the run: an 8 mm COB board and a 10 mm gold-plated SCOB board. The others cut every 3 to 5 mm: COB at 0.12 in (3.02 mm) and 0.16 in (4.17 mm), and an 8 mm 2835 board at 0.20 in (5 mm) that still runs 110–122 lm/W.

Cut Every 6 to 8.5 mm
The working range for millwork, shelving and display cases: one LED per segment on the SMD boards, so the cut falls every 0.25 to 0.33 in (6.25 to 8.33 mm). Free-cut SCOB and COB boards are in the same range and give a dot-free line.

Cut Every 10 to 12.5 mm
High-density boards with a short cut. Most cut every 0.39 in (10 mm), and the 3 and 4 mm 2110 boards cut every 0.49 in (12.5 mm) on 12V. Several of these cut shorter on 12V than on 24V; the table gives both.

Cuttable Addressable Pixel Strip
Pixel strip with one LED per pixel and per cut, so an animated sign or display can stop exactly on a letter edge. The WS2815 boards cut every 0.46 in (11.8 mm) and carry a backup data line, so the run keeps working past a failed pixel.

Cuttable Neon Flex & Wall Washer
Neon flex that cuts every 0.25 to 0.28 in (6.25 to 7.14 mm) instead of every 1 to 2 in, for signs and shapes that must close exactly. There is also a 22 mm lens wall washer that cuts every 1.09 in (27.78 mm), at every LED.

Frequently asked questions
Can you cut LED strip lights anywhere?
Standard strip, no: cut only at the marked points, every 1 to 4 in (25 to 100 mm) on most 24V strip, or the section after the cut stays dark. Cut-anywhere COB and SCOB can be cut at any point, and most cuttable boards on this page cut every 3 to 12.5 mm; the pixel and wall washer boards cut at every LED.
Does a cuttable LED strip still work after cutting?
Yes. Both pieces keep working as long as you cut on the marked line (or anywhere, on a cut-anywhere board). Each LED or small group has its own driver circuit, so cutting one group leaves the rest working.
Do I need to reseal a cuttable strip after cutting?
Only if it is IP65 or higher. Bare IP20 boards need no sealing. Sealed boards and neon flex need an end cap with silicone at the cut end to keep their rating.
Is cuttable LED strip less efficient?
Some designs are. The driver circuit at every LED uses some power, so the 3 mm-cut COB runs 58–65 lm/W. But the cuttable 2835 boards run 84–122 lm/W, close to standard strip, so check the efficacy column on the product page before you choose.
How long can a cuttable LED strip run?
Plan on 16 ft (5 m) per feed for most boards, the same as standard 12V and 24V strip. Longer runs take a feed every 16 ft or feed from both ends.
